If you’re looking for a friendly club with great racing twice a week, great social sailing and a a range of RYA course for members, you’ve found it!
Located at one end of the longest village green in England, the sailing club is idyllically set.
As well as racing on Sundays there is also racing Wednesday afternoons during the winter months and Wednesday afternoon and evenings through the summer.
The Club is a recognized RYA teaching establishment with courses being run though out the spring and early summer catering for everyone from beginners onwards.
The courses are for members only.
The Club also provides sailing opportunities in line with the national Sailability Scheme.
The Club also takes part in the RYA ‘On Board’ sailing scheme whereby groups of schoolchildren, Guides and Scouts are given an introduction to sailing.
The Club follows all RYA guidance with regarding safeguarding minors and vulnerable adults and have appointed safeguarding officers for both categories. Further information can be found on the RYA website.
The facilities are open to members at all times to sail at their leisure.
RYA Training Courses
Frampton On Severn Sailing Club is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Training Centre offering sailing and powerboat courses for members of all ages.
Racing and Sailing
The water is open to members 7 days a week.
The Club offers the highest standard of competitive dinghy racing with fleet racing, pursuit and handicap racing every Sunday, and handicap racing every Wednesday afternoon from March to September.
Our Friday Social Sailing provides members with an opportunity to get on the water with a like minded group of club members on hand to give advice, share experiences and build confidence.
The Junior Club runs one Saturday afternoon a month providing a safe environment for junior members to gain experience, build confidence and most importantly have fun on the water.
Sailability sessions run Saturdays from April to October using specially designed and adapted boats sailors can either sail on their own or with an experienced buddy. We have powerboats that are adapted to roll on wheelchairs and can even be driven by someone who is in a wheelchair. Our sailing boats are specially designed not to capsize and so are perfectly safe for sailing in most conditions. Our mantra is for enjoyment both off and on the water, hence we don’t sail in the cold winter months as sitting in a boat on the water can at times be very cold.
